With the announcement of PS5 and its launch on November 19, it is time to wonder what games we will be able to play on the Playstation 5.
There are already a good handful of confirmed PS5 games to date – many of them match our Xbox Series X games list – and we’re getting a taste of the Main Menu.
All PS5 exclusive and first-party games confirmed to date
These are the first-party games (created by Sony’s internal studios) and the exclusive games that can only be played on PS5:
New God of War – The next installment in the God of War series, still unnamed, will be out in 2021, and judging from the video we assume that we will witness Ragnarok during the game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – The next chapter in Insomniac’s Spider-Man focuses on Miles Morales and is due out November 19 alongside a PS4 version.
Demon’s Souls – A remake of the From Software PS3 adventure that arises as a collaboration between Bluepoint and Japan Studio. It will be exclusive to PS5 and will be available for launch on November 19.
Horizon Forbidden West – Set in America in the very distant future, Guerrilla returns to the universe of Horizon: Zero Dawn in this sequel for PS4 and PS5.
Gran Turismo 7 – The new numbered installment of the Polyphony Digital saga reintroduces GT Simulation mode and has support for haptic feedback and 3D audio. It does not have a release date yet.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart – Developed by Insomniac Games. The upcoming Ratchet and Clank will make use of DualSense for enhanced feedback and will be available “around the launch sale” of PS5.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure – Developed by Sumo Digital (LittleBigPlanet 3), this game will be a 3D platformer (with a very expressive and immersive control scheme “that can be played alone or with friends. It will be released alongside the console and will arrive also on PS4.
Astro’s Playroom – It will come preloaded on PS5, introducing players to the capabilities of the DualSense controller as they guide Astro Bot through four worlds based on the components of the PS5 console.
Destruction AllStars – Developed by Lucid and XDEV, this action game mixes foot and vehicle combat in a massive arena. It will be one of the games in the launch catalog.
PS5 Exclusive Third Party Games Confirmed
Final Fantasy XVI – The next Final Fantasy will be a “console exclusive” on PS5.
Project Asia – Developed by Luminous Productions (Final Fantasy XV) within Square Enix, is a new action game coming to PC and PS5.
Death loop – Announced at the E3 2019 Bethesda conference, this Arkane Lyon game pits two killers caught in a time loop. It will be released on PC and PS5 as a temporary console exclusive in 2021.
Ghostwriter: Tokyo – Unveiled at E3 2019 during its press conference, the June PS5 event showcased the first gameplay of the game from Tango Gameworks, Shinji Mikami’s studio. It will be released on PC and as a console exclusive on PS5 in 2021.
Godfall – a fantastic third-person role-playing game focused on looting and close combat. Developed by Counterplay and published by Gearbox, it will be released on November 12 on PC and PS5.
PS5 third party games confirmed
This list includes the rest of the games confirmed for PS5. These games will be released on multiple platforms and some of them will be intergenerational.
Hogwarts Legacy – This game will be released in 2021 and will take you on an adventure through the Wizarding World of Harry Potter on an adventure set in the late 1800s at Hogwarts.
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition – You will be able to purchase this enhanced version of the game on PS5 when the console is released.
Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach – The next installment in the Five Nights At Freddy’s franchise will be available on PS5 but has no release date.
Immortals Fenix Rising – Formerly known as Gods and Monsters, this open-world action game from Ubisoft is coming to PC and all consoles on December 3.
Riders Republic – this new Ubisoft franchise includes various extreme sports such as snowboarding or skydiving. It will come to PC and consoles of both generations.
RIDE 4 – The next installment of the two-wheeler game will have next-gen versions on January 21, 2021, after its release on PC and consoles on October 8, 2020.
Graven – Hexen 2’s spiritual successor will be developed by Slipgate Ironworks and will arrive on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Switch in 2021.
Poker Club – As the name suggests, a poker game will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and Switch in 2020.
Vigor – An F2P shooter that is now available on Xbox and will hit more platforms in 2020.
White Shadows – This black and white platformer is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X in 2021.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – The next installment in the LEGO franchise will launch in spring 2021 for PC and consoles of both generations.
Little Nightmares 2 – The sequel to the horror game from Tarsier Studios will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2021.
Dragon Age 4 – We don’t expect the next installment in the Dragon Age saga until at least 2022, but we do know that it will come to next-gen consoles.
Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead – Launching this year on PC and consoles of both generations.
Unknown 9: Awakening – This new IP from Reflector Studios stars a young Indian woman with supernatural powers.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – The latest installment in the Call of Duty series will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X, but updates won’t be free.
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 – The sequel to the puzzle game will hit next-gen consoles before the end of 2020.
Gotham Knights – This new Batman story, which can be played alone or with another player in co-op, explores a Gotham in which Batman has died and Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin have to go out to defend the city. It will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in 2021.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – The continuation of Rocksteady’s Arkham universe, set in an open-world Metropolis that can be explored alone or with up to three other players. It will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X in 2022.
Braid: Anniversary Edition – A remastered version of the Xbox 360 classic that will include new graphics and developer feedback. It will be out in 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
TemTem – The multiplayer creature capture game is in early access on PC and will arrive in 2021 on PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X.
Hood: Outlaws and Legends – This PvPvE multiplayer from Sumo Newcastle, developers of EVE Valkyrie, is due out in 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
The Pedestrian – A 2.5D platform puzzle game that lets you explore the world within a series of posters, will be released on PS4 and PS5.
Guilty Gear Strive – The new installment of the fighting game from Arc System Works is due out on PC, PS4, and PS5 in early 2021.
People Can Fly AAA Project AAA – People Can Fly, creators of Bulletstorm, have announced an adventure for next-gen consoles. Considering that they have to increase the size of their studios, it is likely that the launch will take a long time to produce.
Earthlock 2 – The sequel to Snowcastle Games’ 90s JRPG-inspired adventure takes us to Umbra, a planet with one half in darkness and the other in sunlight. It will be out on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
Balan Wonderworld – A platformer from the creator of Sonic (Yuji Naka) and Square Enix’s Balan Company studio coming out on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X in Spring 2021.
Yakuza – Like a Dragon – It will arrive on PS5 after its passage through PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
Overcooked: All You Can Eat – A compilation with the first two Overcooked and all the DLC coming to next-gen consoles with cross-play and 4K / 60fps.
PES – The 2021 PES is being developed for PS5 and Xbox Series X, switching from the engine to the Unreal Engine. It will be out during the second half of next year.
Far Cry 6 – Coming to PC and consoles of both generations on February 18, 2021. This new open-world title stars Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) as Anton Castillo, a dictator who wields the setting with iron fist tropical in which we will play.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood – Cyanide’s new game puts us in the shoes of an exiled werewolf who must return to his land to defend it from a multinational company that is polluting the area.
Steelrising – Spiders (GreedFall, The Technomancer) imagines an alternate 18th century in which an army of King Louis XIV’s automatons attack the citizens of Paris.
Warhammer: Chaosbane – An improved version of the hack-and-slash set in the Games Workshop universe.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong – a new narrative adventure from the makers of The Council.
Recompile – A Metroidvania where we play as a virus infiltrating a facility. It will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
Heavenly Bodies – A physics-based space exploration game for PC, PS4, and PS5.
Maquette – a “recursive first-person puzzle game that takes you into a world where all buildings, plants, and objects are both tiny and huge” is coming to PC, PS4, and PS5.
Haven – This “love story about a couple trying to stay together” is new from the creators of Furi and will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X.
Worms Rumble – Team17 returns to its classic IP with a real-time version that offers cross-platform multiplayer with PC and PS4 as well as a battle royale mode.
Planet Coaster: Console Edition – Frontier will release console versions of a current and new generation of its amusement park management game at the same time later this year.
Dragon Age and new projects from DICE, Motive, and Criterion – The highly anticipated sequel to Bioware was seen for a few seconds during the segment of EA Play 2020 dedicated to next-gen consoles. New projects from Motive, DICE (almost certainly Battlefield), and Criterion (which is working on a new Need for Speed) were also shown.
FIFA 21 – This year’s installment of EA’s sports franchise will include free updates so that those who purchase the game on this generation’s consoles will receive the next-gen version when it becomes available.
The Pathless-Giant Squid Games (Abzu) exploration game will be released this year.
Quantum Error – A cosmic first-person horror game coming to PS4 and PS5 in 2021.
Cris Tales – A “classic JRPG love letter” that takes us on a journey to the past, present, and future.
Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One: Frogwares returns with the origin story of the famous detective and will take us in 2021 on a trip to a Mediterranean island.
Dustbin – An action-adventure from the creators of Dreamfall Chapters and Draugen coming out in 2021.
Resident Evil Village – The eighth title in the main series will keep the first-person perspective of Resident Evil 7 and will be released in 2021.
Pragmata – A mysterious new Capcom game coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X in 2022.
Hitman 3 – IO Interactive presents the return of Agent 47 for the “most intimate contract of his career” after the trilogy ‘World of Assassination’. It will be out in January 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
Little Devil Inside – Developed by Neostream, this action-adventure game with survival elements is set in an “atmospheric and semi-open” world.
NBA 2K21 – The next installment in the 2K Sports basketball series is due out in Fall 2020.
Solar Ash – Unveiled at the beginning of 2019, is the new game of Heart Machine (Hyper Light Drifter). Solar Ash is due out on PC, PS4, and PS5 in 2021, edited by Annapurna.
BugSnax – As the name suggests, the next game from the Octodad developers takes you to an island where its inhabitants are half bugs, half snacks. It will be out in late 2020 on PC, PS4, and PS5.
Kena – Bridge of Spirits – A narrative game from Ember Lab, a team that comes from film and animation, where players “find and grow a team of charming spirits called the Rot, improving their skills and creating new ways to manipulate the environment.”
Goodbye Volcano High – An animated adventure from Ko_Op (GNOG) due out on PC, PS4, and PS5 in 2021.
Oddworld Soulstorm – The long-awaited new installment in the Oddworld series received its first gameplay trailer at the PS5 event.
Stray – An Annapurna and Bluetwelve adventure coming out in 2021 on PC, PS4, and PS5 as a console exclusive for a limited time.
Jett: The Far Shore is due out in late 2020 for PS4 and PS5 from Superbrothers and Pine Scented. Unveiled in a mysterious first trailer, you will have to “create a future for a people haunted by oblivion and propelled by dreams.”
Metal: Hellinger – Developed by The Outsiders (the studio co-founded by David Goldfarb, the designer of Battlefield 3 and director of Payday 2), Metal: Hellinger is a rhythm FPS coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and game consoles. a new generation in 2021.
Chivalry 2 – Coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and will be cross-play across all platforms.
Paradise Lost – A “thrilling mystery” from Polyamorous Games about a boy exploring a bunker in a post-war setting. It will come to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
Dirt 5 – The latest installment in Codemasters’ long-running rally series will have versions for PS4 and PS5
Chorus – A first-person space shooter published by Deep Silver. It’s also coming to PS4 in 2021.
Madden 21 – The next installment in EA Sports’ annual series will also have a PS4 version.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 – is the sequel to the classic, published by Paradox. It will also be playable on PS4
Scarlet Nexus – A Bandai Namco JRPG that will also be released on PS4:
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – The latest installment in Ubisoft’s veteran series will have a next-gen version but will also be playable on PS4.
- Observer: System Redux – A remastering of the Boobler Team horror game from 2017 releasing this year.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum – This game will follow Gollum’s adventures, as the influence of the One Ring and Sméagol’s remnants fight for control of his mind. It is being developed by Daedalic Entertainment and will be released in 2021.
Outriders is a cooperative shooter for one to three players from People Can Fly (Bulletstorm) and will be released in late 2020.
Kylotonn’s WRC 9 will leap to the new consoles following its debut on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in September.
Games to be released on PS5

What existing games will get improvements on Playstation 5?
In addition to the new releases, some existing games will receive improvements on Playstation 5.
Although you are not confirmed in all cases, the normal thing is that these updates are free:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – A version of the RPG that will bring ray-tracing and reduced load times. It will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X as a free update for those who already have it on current platforms.
Dead By Daylight – A next-gen version with better graphics, 4K and 60 FPS coming to the next generation as a free update in 2020.
The Elder Scrolls Online – Bethesda will offer the new version as a free update when available.
Doom Eternal – It will be backward compatible at launch and will be a free update when released on next-gen consoles.
Marvel’s Avengers – Following the release of the Crystal Dynamics game on PS4 and Xbox One on September 4, the game will be free to upgrade to the next generation, including progress carry-over and cross-generational crossplay. The new versions will have performance improvements, according to Square Enix.
Control – Remedy has announced that Control will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X in an “Ultimate Edition” with the season pass at the end of the year.
Grand Theft Auto 5 – There will be next-gen versions of GTA 5 and GTA Online that will have technical improvements and will be released during the second half of 2021.
Destiny 2 – Bungie’s free-to-play shooter will leap into the next-gen at 60fps and 4K.
Fortnite – While Epic has yet to reveal Fortnite’s next-gen enhancements, it has been confirmed that it will be available at launch in Unreal Engine 4.25 before making the jump to Unreal Engine 5 in 2021.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will have a new generation version, which will allow cross-gen multiplayer. “For example, Playstation 5 players can play Playstation 4 players and Xbox Series X players can play Xbox One players,” explained creative director Leroy Athanassoff.
Warframe was confirmed as the title for the next generations in Leyou Technologies’ financial report.
Games that are likely to hit PS5
At the moment we do not know too much about the upcoming releases for PS5, as many titles have to be confirmed. We can try to guess some of them with the information we have.

Elder Scrolls 6 is coming even later, but we’re sure we’ll see it on Playstation 5.
