Warframe Tier List [October 2022] Best Warframes Ranked

While Warframe is not an easy game to approach, it is worth the effort to get comfortable with it is as rewarding as it is challenging. One of the most challenging aspects of this game is choosing which Warframes to use and how to effectively harness their abilities, as this is something that just can’t be learned in-game.

There are many different Warframes to choose from, and each comes with a unique set of abilities and skills. So, if you were to make the wrong choice, you would be wasting too many resources and time on Warframes that are of no use to you.

There are 45 Warframes to choose from, together with the stronger Prime Warframes and more to come in the future. Unfortunately, it’s nearly impossible to figure out which Warframes are the most valuable and which you’re better off ignoring without getting your hands dirty and trying them all out.

That’s why today at JoinGames, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to do all the heavy lifting for you, and we’ve created the most up-to-date and accurate Warframe tier list you’ll find on the web!

What is Warframe?

Before we dive into the tier list, let us first have a recap of what Warframe truly evolves around, this should give us an understanding of how the existing ranking system works.

Warframe prides itself on being a free-to-play game and not a pay-to-win, and that’s mostly true to a degree because aside from some skins and cosmetics, pretty much everything else that matters in the game can be acquired by playing.

In Warframe, you take control of various Tenno members, a race of old warriors who have emerged from centuries of suspended sleep far in Earth’s distant future to find themselves at war across the planetary system with multiple opposing factions.

This game feels just fantastic to play, with its fulfilling kill-collect-craft cycle, supported by a mountain of choices that the players take control over and some wonderfully responsive motion dynamics.

Warframe Tier List: Best Warframes [October 2022]

So now that you have a small reminder of what the game’s plot is and how important it is to make the right decision in this player-driven game, let’s get some more insights on what the ranking system of this tier list is based on.

As a rule of thumb, we’ll showcase all the Warframes in the game, starting from the very top (S-tier) to the very bottom (D-tier). So you can better understand the most powerful and which ones you should do your best to avoid, at least for now.

Numerous hidden elements determine which ones are top tier and lower—for example, the current state of the game and the fact that the meta is constantly changing.

This means that many of the Warframes you’ll see on the list today may go up or down in rank during the next patch. However, rest assured our tier list is made to be forward-looking, as we constantly track all changes in the game and adapt our tier list respectively.

We also ensure to include any new characters that may be released in the future, so with that aside, let’s dive into our Warframe tier list.

Warframe S Tier List

Warframe S Tier List 2022

  • Gara
  • Mesa
  • Wisp
  • Saryn
  • Nezha
  • Nova
  • Octavia

The S-tier represents the most powerful and sought Warframes, as they have proved perfect in nearly all game modes and can help you navigate your way to victory without sweating! So these Warframes should be a top priority if you want to dominate the game.

Warframe A Tier List.png

Warframe A Tier List 2022

  • Ember
  • Volt
  • Voidrig
  • Equinox
  • Baruuk
  • Rhino
  • Protea
  • Gauss
  • Ivara
  • Nekros
  • Zephyr
  • Revenant
  • Chroma
  • Xaku
  • Trinity

While not as strong as S-tier Warframes, A-tier have the second-best thing; These Warframes can still quickly get you to the finish line and win most battles with relative comfort.

Assuming they’ve been appropriately upgraded and leveled up. Then, they can be your plan B for a bad day when you can’t get those sweet S-tier picks.

Warframe Tier B List 2022

  • Harrow
  • Mirage
  • Hildryn
  • Garuda
  • Wukong
  • Nidus
  • Oberon
  • Excalibur
  • Inaros
  • Khora
  • Ash
  • Mag
  • Titania

The B-tier is the middle of the ranks; they’re not bad, but not the best. Again, however, the selection of these Warframes should be entirely situational.

Warframe C Tier List.png

Warframe C Tier List 2022

  • Lavos
  • Atlas
  • Limbo
  • Loki
  • Vauban
  • Bonewidow
  • Valkyr
  • Banshee
  • Caliban
  • Wraith

C-Tier is where you go when you have no other valuable options, they are still reasonably solid picks, but they are not quite strong as A-Tier or B-Tier Warframes.

They can still be leveraged to win games, but they demand that you do as much work and grind them. Again, it all depends on what kind of game it is and at what stage you’re playing.

Warframe D Tier List

Warframe D Tier List 2022

  • Nyx
  • Hyldrin
  • Hydroid
  • Yareli
  • Grendel
  • Gyre
  • Frost

D-tier group combines the Warframes that we believe are least impactful. These are not very useful, and we do not advise using them as they fail to deliver overall utility and damage. So you’re better served to ignore them, at least for the current meta.

How Did We Come Up With This Warframe Tier List?

The way we created this tier list did not stray far from our usual pattern of how we conduct our research and play-testing before releasing any tier list. We feel it’s important to explain how this tier list came to be as a way to give it credibility so you know that it’s not just another copy-pasta on the web.

Our list results from an extensive combination of hours spent playing the game, testing everything we’ve learned and read about, and referencing every patch note and every rumored game update.

All this is accompanied by sneaking around on all major platforms such as Reddit, and the game’s official Discord server, in addition to checking out what pro players are playing to dominate the game, all to determine which are the best, most talked about Warframes.

This concludes our Warframe tier list guide; we sincerely hope it will be as fun and helpful to try as it was to make. We understand that some of you might have a different opinion on this list, and that’s Okay! We encourage you to share your thoughts and feedback with us as much as you can.

Also, don’t hesitate to let us know what you think, and if you have any suggestions or ideas on some other games tier list that you wish you see, we’re happy to oblige.
